Your area of work:
Deutsche Börse Group operates the Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (FWB®, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange), global reference market for German stocks and the European number one for trading exchange-traded funds (ETFs), as well as Eurex, the marketplace for the derivatives community worldwide with a broad range of international benchmark products and the most liquid fixed-income markets in the world. The Trading Surveillance Office at Deutsche Börse Group is responsible for trading surveillance for both Eurex Deutschland and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Our Xetra/Eurex Database Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day operations, deployment, and handling of these trading surveillance applications as well as the database administration in order to ensure well-functioning markets. Xetra/Eurex Operations covers the full scope of Deutsche Börse Trading, Clearing and Risk systems including their infrastructure.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operational responsibilities including incident response, standby duty, and maintenance activities. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Design, build and maintain monitoring and alerting stack.
  • Administration and optimization of high availability solutions including their associated databases.
  • Stay up to date on technology and help improve processes and culture.

    
Your profile:

  • Interest and ability to learn, collaborative working style.
  • User and basic system management knowledge with Linux.
  • Ability to script in bash in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of relational database engines - mySQL preferred
  • A degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A passion for the challenges of building, running and servicing minimum downtime critical production systems.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English and German (min. B2 level).
