Your area of work:
In recent years, Deutsche Börse has built a data lake platform based on Big Data technology. And our target is to migrate here additional workload from the previously used relational database environment.
You will join a stable team which consists of both young and seasoned professionals with necessary functional know-how. As the backend developer in unit “Application Development Cash Datawarehouse” you will be responsible for maintaining the data lake system, which stores and processes trading data from multiple stock exchange markets, including Xetra Frankfurt – a key part of Deutsche Börse landscape. Services include ensuring availability of cash trading data as well as data analysis and reporting to external customers.
We understand that you might not have a profound functional knowledge in financial markets and stock exchanges. Rest assured that you will be sufficiently trained for the new role to maximize your individual potential and impact.
Your responsibilities:
- Development in Spark/Scala
- Reading input from HDFS, HBase/Phoenix, Kafka
- Evaluating trading data, like surveillance alerts or rating of Market Makers
- Preparing APIs for downstream systems and GUIs
- Creating SQL queries in Zeppelin
- Supporting internal clients
Your profile:
- Technical degree or relevant experience with software development
- Experience with Big data (Hadoop, Spark)
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Fluent English is a must, German just an advantage
- Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Awareness of financial markets and quality assurance
- Willingness and patience to get familiar with large systems
