Field of activity
Group Credit`s overriding objective is to ensure that business activities are conducted within a prudent credit risk framework that is consistent with the bank’s credit appetite and in compliance with regulatory and supervisory requirements.
In your position as Credit Officer you will be responsible to monitor customer’s exposures targeting maximum settlement efficiency while ensuring that the level of credit risk accepted by Clearstream is in accordance with the bank’s credit policies, underwriting standard and regulatory requirements.
As part of the group-wide Credit team, you will closely work with credit analysts, provide support to the management, and respond promptly to demands for credit information and advice from the business areas. You will play a central role in the maintenance and accuracy of critical credit and collateral data available in the various system of controls while targeting higher efficiencies in the various tasks and processes. 

 

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Authorise the purchases of securities and the withdrawal of customers’ cash balances while ensuring adherence to credit policies, procedures and deadlines.
  • Input and maintenance of various credit and collateral data in the systems of records.
  • Handle credit and collateral tasks, including (but not limited to) the monitoring and reporting of collateral concentrations, correlations, and exceptions as well as data consistency checks and monitoring of customers’ exposures.
  • Work on the maintenance, concepts/design, testing and implementation of new and existing credit tools.
  • Active participation to the review and improvement of existing and new processes and tasks, using data management tools, targeting maximum efficiency.
  • Contribute to the review, upgrade and development of credit policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Review and assess the impact on the credit business of new regulations and guidelines issued by relevant authorities in Luxembourg, Frankfurt and Singapore;
  • Participate in credit projects and ad-hoc requests.

 

Qualifications/required skills

  • University degree in Business, Accountancy or Banking & Finance.
  • Good knowledge of financial markets and instruments. Knowledge in risk management, especially credit risk management, is an advantage.
  • Solid command of one or several tools or programming language used for data management (e.g. MS Access, SQL, VBA, Macros).
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, sound knowledge of the systems of records.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable with operational tasks / quick decisions with short deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in an international environment; ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Highly motivated and willing to assume additional assignments, including working in shifts as well as learn about new tools relevant for the role.
  • Excellent command of English. Knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate across a number of functions and business areas.
