We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Adaptation team, welcoming candidates both with hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, seasoned sysadmins wanting to
Risk’s Cloud Adaptation team provides common technical “meta” services used across our cloud-native applications, primarily designing the common cloud infrastructure and owning our CI/CD stack, as well as providing guidance for projects wanting to adopt to modern infrastructure and development standards. The Cloud Adaptation team is also a production team, currently providing second level support for Risk’s cloud infrastructure, as well as being operators of parts of the company wide DevOps toolchain.
Your tasks responsibilities:
- Active participation in architecture and software development activities
- Stay up to date on technology, provide support and guidance
- Design, build and maintain automated, highly available infrastructure
- Manage your own project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our system and develop new features
You should possess and demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
- Proven experience with container orchestration, either upstream Kubernetes or RedHat OpenShift
- Strong knowledge of AWS, GCP or Azure and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with CI/CD (Circle CI, Argo CD)
- An appreciation of the challenges of building, running and servicing a minimum downtime production system
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
Preferred skills/qualifications – the following skills would be a plus:
- Previous experience with high-performance and high-availability systems
- Experience with a modern cloud native stack (Prometheus, Kustomize, Istio)
- A degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering or equivalent experience
- An interest or background in financial markets and risk management
- Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation
Additionally, you need to be a team player with a sense of humor, good communication and collaboration skills, motivated and flexible.
