Your Area of Work:

In Energy IT we design, build, deploy and operate SaaS solutions for electronic commodities marketplaces. The tradable instruments made available through our platforms range from intraday power to CO2 emission certificates and cross-border transfer-capacities. Our applications and infrastructure make trading on Europe’s largest power exchanges possible.

As the Head of our Development Unit, you will lead and grow our team of developers, testers, and functional analysts. You will build and support our agile environment and culture. You will leverage our technology stack to build stable and secure solutions by optimizing and streamlining the current procedures and processes.


As a member of our Management Team, you will actively define and contribute to the Section’s targets and overall vision and mission. You will cooperate with other team leads to shape our Section strategy and create a robust, transparent, and effective organizational structure.

We are looking for a self-driven leader with experience in managing cross-location teams of internal and external colleagues.


Your Responsibilities:

  • You are the key accountable person for our Software Development Lifecycle. You actively govern this process area and ensure it is effectively measured and managed to meet its objectives.
  • You ensure the continual improvement of the Software Development Lifecycle and the ability for its processes to scale with the needs of our business
  • You are accountable for the staffing of the development unit including recruitment, onboarding, and capacity management.
  • You are responsible for the Performance Management for your team including individual and team target definition and assessment.
  • You are responsible for the line management of a team of 15+, including personal/career development, team facilitation, and administrative support for personnel and HR related topics.
  • As part of the Management Team, you actively participate in defining the Section’s Vision, Mission, and Targets.


Your Profile:

  • You have 3+ years of people management experience, preferably within engineering teams.
  • Solid background in Software Development area
  • You have strong experience working with and/or managing with agile development frameworks.
  • You are a trusted, empathetic people leader with strong social skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Proficiency in English is mandatory).
  • You are self-driven and able to define priorities in a complex environment.
