Your area of work:

Deutsche Börse Group IT is organised as a product organisation. Risk IT is part of the Risk Product, which mainly serves the Risk Management department of Eurex Clearing AG, regulated under EMIR, MaRisk et.al. Therefore, the services provided by Risk IT must meet to a number of regulatory standards and provide operational stability whilst keeping up with developments in new technology. The Risk Product is currently working on a strategic transformation of the current Risk IT landscape into R7, a cloud-ready service architecture which enables an efficient, sustainable and safe IT execution of the business roadmap.

As Head of Section Analytical Services, you are responsible for running the teams for application development and test of all analytical risk applications, in particular, those for DMP tool support and risk model calibrations. As part of your role, you will support the transitioning of analytical services into R7 by means of allocating talents to the project in alignment with the R7 project management and prepare your teams for taking ownership in the future whilst the services are developed by the project. In terms of reporting, you will be expected to report regularly on the applications’ performance, change status as well as potential issues with respective solution proposals to senior management on Eurex Clearing Board level.

Head of Section is a line management role. As such, people management must be an integral part of your agenda. You are expected to actively work on your teams’ and team member’s personal development by proposing development measures and creating visibility for talent.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for managing the teams for application development and test of all analytical risk applications:
  • For application classified as “critical”: Ensure maintenance and on-call support as agreed with the business side for the sake of stable operations according to SLAs and respective KPIs.
  • Deliver software changes in a reliable and transparent manner, in scope, time and budget. Align with project managers, peers from Risk IT, neighbouring IT teams as well as IT Operations and control functions proactively where required
  • Understand the IT and business roadmaps, transport understanding to the team and translate into actions on team level. Prepare for application ownership of those R7 services which belong to the area of Analytical Services.
  • Foster an environment of pro-active communication, inclusion rather than exclusion, regular self-assessment and continuous improvement
  • Work actively on teams’ and team members’ personal development, making an effective contribution to increase the team’s diversity
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of applicable regulations in the team and high awareness for the importance of information security
  • Report Core Application System Performance, Change Status and Issues with respective solution proposal to Risk IT Leadership

Team and Eurex Clearing Senior Management regularly and in appropriate form

  • Maintain relationships to all Risk IT stakeholders incl. but not limited to CCP Risk Management, Eurex IT Management, Eurex Product

Development & Strategy, IT Operations and Control functions

  • Occasional trips to the Deutsche Börse headquarters in Frankfurt (depending on pandemic situation)


Your profile:

  • Team player with excellent communication skills, naturally striving for inclusion rather than exclusion, creating transparency,

proactive communication rather than passive response, continuously self-assessing

  • Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Quantitative Economics or similar)
  • Solid experience in the IT of a financial market infrastructure provider
  • Extensive experience in financial markets and more specifically risk management systems, preferably clearing risk systems and

Pricing systems

  • Solid Leadership Skills of managing international teams
  • Excellent Project Management Skills
  • Solid experience with reporting to senior management
  • High results orientation, reliability and setting high standards for quality of work products
  • Experienced in the area of Audit and Compliance, familiar with MaRisk and EMIR regulations
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, Czech and German would be an advantage
