Your area of work: 

Within the CTO area (Chief Technology Officer), at Reference Data as a Service (S) we focus on collecting, validating, and distributing reference data from internal and external sources required to run our broad business. Currently, Reference Data as a Service (S) is in the process of transitioning from core Mainframe & Monolithic systems to cloud based & scalable architecture. 

 

As Head of Unit you will lead a team of software engineers and functional analysts who are end-to-end responsible for the architecture, data model, data delivery, and data streaming to all DBG’s internal and external clients. Your team will consist of strong individual experts in the areas of Functional Analysis, Engineering, and Architecture, and they are operating highly resilient applications today which started to transition into a data-oriented delivery model. 

 

Your responsibilities: 

  • You will be a role model as people leader – significant portion of your time will be to develop individuals within your organization, build a high performing team and support the cultural change 
  • You ensure service solutions are in line with user needs, business and regulatory demands to provide integrated workplace experience 
  • You actively collaborate with the teams in Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Prague to develop, customize and deliver Reference data services of internal and external customers. You actively manage capacity and budget for maintenance and change portfolio in your area 
  • Oversee the development of reference data platforms and ensure stable operations and delivery in the as-is world (Mainframe applications, Linux/Java/Oracle applications) as well stability of the transformed services (Golang, Python, Databricks, Cloud native architecture) 
  • Drive the transition of reference data platforms into the new world.

 

Your Profile: 

  • You have successfully completed a Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or equivalent certification 
  • You are experienced in people leadership – either line or program – including inter-cultural competence, multi-location (Germany, Luxembourg, Prague) 
  • You are experienced in agile project methodology and development – both IT internal as well as ambassador on the client side 
  • You are flexible and can adapt to changing environments and projects and you are committed to continuous learning 
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; German language skills will be an asset
