StatistiX IT section is integral part of the Clearing & Risk IT department and bears the responsibility of the Data Platform of World’s premier exchange, the Deutsche Börse Group. StatistiX® provides external and internal users worldwide with statistical information on financial markets, offers Data Store Services, Business Intelligence, Self-Services, and Analytics platform for various stakeholders in Deutsche Börse Group. Our services are designed to support a critical market infrastructure and must meet several regulatory standards and provide operational stability whilst keeping up with technology innovation

StatistiX is currently undergoing a significant technical transformation, moving from its data warehousing stack to a more advanced Big Data Platform. Furthermore, StatistiX is poised to begin a new chapter through a strategic partnership with Google Cloud and Deutsche Börse. As part of this collaboration, we will be shifting our workload and identifying strategic use cases for the cloud services together with our counterparts from various business areas in the context of the planned groupwide data mesh. StatistiX supports multiple business units of Deutsche Börse to not only run the key business but also get the deep insights by maximising the analysis capabilities and self-services. 
 
We are seeking a skilled and proficient individual to assume the role of leading the unit for StatistiX IT function within the Clearing & Risk IT department. The ideal candidate should demonstrate unwavering commitment to the success of their team, while having prior experience in leading high-performing data engineering teams comprised of individuals with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and geographical locations. You will be responsible for leading the teams for application development and operations, testing, infrastructure for both Datawarehouse and Data Lake platforms to ensure the smooth functioning of Eurex products and its services managed by StatistiX. You will also work closely with stakeholders across business units of Deutsche Börse group and you will manage vendors of your software and service providers. In addition, you will be expected to regularly report on the applications' availability and performance, as well as project status to senior management at DBAG and the Eurex Board level. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in managing large-scale software development and operations projects, hands-on experience in data lake and cloud transformation initiatives, well as expertise in vendor management.

Your responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage distributed teams responsible for Application Development, Testing, DevOps, IT Infrastructure, Security and Operations. 
• You will be spearheading key transformational changes like rearchitecting Oracle based Datawarehouse to Open architecture Big Data platform. 
• Your responsibility will include leading a strategically significant effort to migrate workloads to the Google Cloud Platform and addressing the use cases of diverse user personas, including Analytics as a Service and self-service.
• You will ensure the maintenance is carried out as agreed with the business side in compliant way, maintaining stable operations in accordance with SLAs and relevant KPIs.
• Maintain relationships across various functions of Deutsche Börse Group including stakeholders, product owner of Eurex Trading, Clearing and Risk functions. 
• Deliver software changes for StatistiX IT that are reliable, transparent, and completed within agreed scope, time, and budget. Collaborate with project managers, peers, and stakeholders across Deutsche Börse Group, including IT Operations and control functions
• Create a deep understanding of the vision and translate it into team-level actions, strategies, and roadmaps.
• Actively work on the personal development of team members and make an effective contribution to increase the team's diversity. 

Your profile:

• Demonstrated leadership acumen, with proven track record of effectively managing multinational teams.
• Experience in leading Strategic and transformational projects such as cloud migration, Analytics as a service.
• Substantial experience in team management, spanning several years and fast learner. 
• Distinctive communication and negotiation skills at all levels
• Solid experience with reporting to senior management
• University Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Quantitative Economics or similar)
• Excellent communication skills, proactive communication, continuously self-assessing 
• Comprehensive domain knowledge of Trading, Clearing and Risk Management.
• High results orientation, reliability and setting high standards for quality of work products
• Experienced in Information Security initiatives for critical infrastructures
• Business fluent in written and spoken English, German would be an advantage

Additionally, you need to be a team player with excellent communication skills, highly motivated, flexible and good at handling MS Office applications.
