In Risk (a semi-independent Product of Deutsche Börse) we focus on making Eurex Clearing the industry leader in Risk Services / Central Counterparty (CCP) Risk Management and to support the growth into new products and markets. We are at the heart of the Deutsche Börse Group market infrastructure offering and of utter importance for the stability of the global financial market. We are looking for an experienced Java software developer to join our team in Prague.

The Risk IT - Margining Services team builds and maintains the most critical Eurex Clearing risk management application Prisma (Link). Prisma calculates the risk level, called margin requirement, in real-time that has to be collateralized by trading and clearing members. This can go up to as much as 100 billion Euro. Prisma is crucial for the CCP offering to the market, markets can only remain open if Prisma is available.
You will work in the sub-team developing the in-house back-end and the web GUI for Prisma reference data management (RDS – Reference Data Service). The system runs on Linux (RedHat), employing distributed and parallel processing as well as high-availability features. The main RDS component is written in Java, running on JBoss embedded in a Linux environment. This component is using Spring, ActiveMQ, Hibernate, MySQL. The RDS system also contains several REST-based micro-services and stand-alone applications written in Java. These services use the following technologies: Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, OpenAPI and Apache Tomcat. Python and bash are used for auxiliary scripting.
- Develop, test, maintain/support and improve the Prisma RDS software
- Proactively cooperate with team members, business analysts and other stakeholders
- Support the technical maintenance team as necessary
- Manage your own project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Critical thinking, ability to identify problems and propose solutions, teamwork, proactivity
- Willingness to learn
- Experience working in a corporate environment
- English is essential
- Strong Java object oriented programming skills
- Experience working with SQL relational databases
- Development and scripting experience under Unix/Linux
- Knowledge of data modelling and distributed systems (communication)
- Familiarity with code management systems (e.g. Git)
Preferred skills – the following skills would be a plus:
- C++ programming skills (enables rotation opportunity within Margining Services team)
- Experience with messaging (ActiveMQ, AMQP or similar)
- Experience with Linux scripting (bash, Python, etc.)
- Interest and/or background in financial industry, derivatives or securities trading
Additionally, you need to be a team player with a sense of humour, good communication and collaboration skills, motivated and flexible.
