Your area of work:
The trading network infrastructure is crucial for our derivatives and cash markets Eurex and Xetra. The core of our T7 trading system is written in C++ and runs on RedHat and CentOS Linux. Our networking and messaging technologies include 10/100g Ethernet, InfiniBand, and user-level, low-latency network stacks. We use network equipment from Cisco, Arista, Mellanox. We aim to satisfy the highest standards to provide the required business functionality in a reliable and efficient manner
In your role you will be responsible for the research and performance evaluation of hardware devices for our 10 Gbit/s co-location network. You will be a key resource in designing the new Deutsche Börse co-location network. Equal cable length down to centimeters is a must for us to guarantee a level playing field for our customers. As part of the Trading System Analytics team, you will also support our technology savvy customers by performing in-depth latency and network analyses.
Your responsibilities:
- Research on available technologies to meet our latency and fairness requirements
- Develop automated test scenarios and tools to evaluate network devices
- Perform in-depth latency and network analyses
- Measure cable length in data center
- Evaluate bleeding edge network devices
- Gain detailed know-how on customers’ latency requirements as well as used customer infrastructure
Your profile:
- University degree in Information Technology Computer Science or equivalent
- Extensive experience working in a Linux environment including networking
- Practical experience in operating network devices, preferably with CCNA certificate or equivalent
- Experience programming in C or C++ and Python
- Data analysis and communication of measurement results
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to work in a critical production environment
- Willingness to take over responsibility
- Willingness to gain expertise on new technologies
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
