Your area of work:

As an experienced legal professional in the field of international sanctions, you will play a key role within the Compliance function of Deutsche Börse Group (DBG). You will work closely with business units and control functions to ensure adherence to national and international sanctions regulations. Acting as a legal expert, you will provide guidance on complex sanctions-related matters, contribute to the development of Group-wide policies, and support the implementation of effective compliance frameworks to mitigate legal and reputational risks.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Legal analysis and interpretation of sanction regimes (e.g. EU regulations, US Executive Orders) and their impact on DBG´s legal entities
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Group wide sanctions policies and procedures
  • Advising business units across DBG on (legal) risks associated with financial sanctions
  • Providing legal opinions on sanctions-related issues
  • Perform monitoring and sanctions alert handling activities to identify and prevent misconduct with sanctions and embargoes
  • Provide training for dedicated target groups on specific sanctions topics

 

Your profile:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials
  • In depth knowledge of international sanctions regimes and their legal implementation
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the financial industry, law firm or similar compliance function
  • Solid understanding of financial market infrastructure and financial products
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly and effectively
  • High level of initiative, integrity and accountability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Collaborative mindset
