Your area of work:
We are a leading financial services company, operating at the heart of global trading markets. Our server infrastructure is critical for the sustainability of our Derivatives and Cash markets, including Eurex and Xetra. As a Linux System Administrator, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and administering our Linux server systems, covering the complete value chain from development to production.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • System Management: Upgrade, patch, tune, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
  • High Availability Infrastructure: Maintain and ensure the reliability of our high availability infrastructure.
  • Advanced Support: Provide 3rd level support to advanced users, resolving complex issues promptly.
  • Server Setup and Refresh: Plan and execute setup, hardware, and software refreshes for critical IT server solutions.
  • Shift Work and On-Call: Be willing to work on shifts and participate in on-call duty rotations (compensation provided).

 

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Several years of system administration experience, preferably in a sensitive environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation, monitoring, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of Git for version control.
  • Proficient in scripting (Python, shell scripting).
  • Understanding of cluster concepts, especially Pacemaker.
  • Familiarity with virtualization/containerized technologies (e.g., RHV, VMWare).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate in an international team.
  • Proficiency in both German and English.

 

Additional Skills (Considered a Plus):

  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with Ansible and/or Puppet.
  • RedHat Satellite 6: Familiarity with RedHat Satellite for efficient system management.
  • Monitoring Solutions: Exposure to monitoring tools like Checkmk.
