Field of activity
Deutsche Börse Market Data + Services provides financial market participants around the world with proprietary market data from Deutsche Börse Group’s Xetra and Eurex trading platforms, as well as with data from our cooperation partners. Our clients include analysts, algo traders, banks, hedge funds, asset managers, mid- and back-office professionals and vendors who rely on high-quality, reliable information to make investment and trading decisions, manage risk, safeguard assets, and meet increasing regulatory requirements. As a working student (f/m/d) you will support the Customer Compliance Team with Customer Audits and Customer Reporting. 
Your responsibilities will include liaising with the team to test the processing of data sets within an in-house application, ad hoc data normalisation and data analysis. The team uses MS Excel and VBA to process data sets from this application, this role will allow you to take responsibility in the running of these macros to ensure current and future requirements are met. 
You will gain insights into the tasks and processes related to international Market Data Audits, Reporting, maintenance of in-house applications, internal stakeholder management and customer communication. 
 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • You will create data sets in MS Excel following a standard template and test them in an in-house processing tool to record if the outputs have met predefined requirements
  • You will detect and document any detected errors or anomalies. You will be responsible for the documentation and tracking of issues until they are addressed
  • You will be responsible for the review and improvement of VBA Macros, assist the team in debugging and fixing of errors in the macros
  • Moreover, you will assist in exploring alternative data processing methods to VBA including the testing using python
  • In additíon, you will assist the team in the processing, reconciliation and analysis of data sets and the automation of data processing

 

Your profile:

  • You will be enrolled during the entire period of the role at a state-recognized university and are a regular student who has completed at least 2 semesters. (Your focus of Study should be in the field of economics, finance, business studies or other relevant fields)
  • You like to work cooperatively in teams, but you can also quickly take on your own responsibility and work independently with IT topics and administrative activities
  • You have a strong knowledge with MS Office Applications, especially MS Excel
  • Furthermore, you have a strong knowledge in VBA and Python and are comfortable processing data sets using these tools
  • Additionally, you are fluent in written and spoken English, proficiency in German would be an advantage
