Are you a recent graduate with a passion for finance and risk and ready to take the first bold step towards a stellar career in the CFO area? Then our 15-month Graduate Trainee Programme might be just the right fit for you.

Programme start date: approximately 01. October 2025 (but we will try to take your availability into account)

Timeline for application: Applications are expected to be accepted as of March/April 2025

Duration: 15 months

Location: Frankfurt am Main or Luxembourg (including an international rotation to Copenhagen @SimCorp)

What is the Finance & Risk Trainee Programme about?

Dive into the world of finance and risk management with our comprehensive Trainee Programme.

Gain hands-on experience in financial performance analysis, process optimization, and risk mitigation strategies. While exploring diverse areas such as accounting, controlling, risk management, and more, you will gain insight into strategic decision-making, business processes and learn how to operate in a diverse shareholder landscape.

Spend an exciting 12 months in one of Europe’s financial hubs, Frankfurt or Luxembourg, and benefit from an enriching 3 months stay in the vibrant city of Copenhagen.

Based on your interests, we will give you the opportunity to choose the areas of your work from different elective modules.

Elective modules and areas of work:

1. Financial Accounting & Controlling (~ 5,5 months)

Accounting, controlling, capital planning, regulatory reporting, sustainability reporting, billing, and more.

2. Risk Management (~ 5,5 months)

Internal Risk framework and methodology, risk reporting and monitoring, risk modelling, internal control system (ICS), business continuity management (BCM) and more.

3. CFO Area SimCorp Copenhagen (~ 3 months)

Business Finance and FP&A, Sustainability, Strategic Finance, Tax and Treasury, Operational Finance (Accounting, Group Controlling and Compliance)

4. Treasury (~ 1 month)

What you can expect

Job rotation within the CFO division

During each station you will gain insight into strategic decision-making, business processes and learn how to operate in a diverse shareholder landscape.

Personal development & trainings

Your personal development is an integral part of the programme and will be promoted. As such, you will have the chance to participate in different trainings from our Capital Markets Academy and digital learning platform.

Networking

You will get the chance to develop an excellent network within Deutsche Börse Group during the programme, which you can leverage to kick-start your career.

Mentoring

You will be matched with an experienced colleague acting as your personal mentor and supporting your professional and personal development throughout the whole programme.

Internationality

You have the choice to start your Finance & Risk Trainee Programme in Germany or Luxembourg. However, you will interact with our colleagues from all over the world on daily basis and get the chance to visit our other offices (Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Prague). This will help you to develop an extensive network and get to know other locations of Deutsche Börse Group.

On this day we get to know each other better and you will work together with other participants on a business case study. After successful completion of the assessment day, we will send you feedback shortly afterwards and, if applicable, offer you a position in our Finance & Risk Trainee Programme.
