Your area of work:

The Cloud and Automation area is an integral part of Deutsche Börse’s Digital Transformation. It is responsible for setting up all necessary cloud infrastructure and organisational requirements to enable all Deutsche Börse Group IT teams to utilize state-of-the-art cloud technologies covering the whole range from IaaS, PaaS, to SaaS solutions in a secure and regulatory compliant way.

 

You will join a high-performance team dealing with cutting-edge technologies in an international environment. As a “Cloud Platforms Engineer” you will be building and operating public cloud infrastructure for Deutsche Börse Group IT. Your responsibilities will include architecting GCP-based solutions, identifying and resolving technical challenges, and enabling other teams to successfully onboard to public cloud platforms. You will also provide support to the broader organization as part of a globally distributed team spanning three geographic regions, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule for overnight support.

 

You will be a key part of making our IT ready for cloud and for delivering the Cloud Strategy as outlined by our CIO and our Executive Board.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work in a team of cloud engineers distributed over multiple locations
  • Design and build highly available, fault tolerant and scalable systems on Google Cloud Platform
  • Automate operational tasks and workflows to reduce toil and improve system efficiency
  • Continuously improve platform reliability through proactive risk identification, testing and system hardening
  • Take part in on-call rotation
  • Support the different product teams within DBG with deep technical know-how in their cloud onboarding/migration efforts
  • Share your knowledge and expertise within DBG

 

Your profile:

  • University degree in Information Technology or comparable experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, with exposure to broad range of platform services
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Packer, Ansible
  • Knowledge of agile working practices (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured work approach
  • Independent work method, high commitment to delivery, high self-responsibility & ownership
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must
