Your area of work

Deutsche Börse´s Market Data + Services (MD+S) business supports capital market participants in their digital transformation. It provides Data Services to members of the financial community worldwide. MD+S is the home of all relevant data from Deutsche Börse’s trading platforms like Xetra or Eurex, as well as renowned index-brands DAX and STOXX. The Data Services department develops, maintains, and markets all of Deutsche Börse’s data, amongst them the proprietary market data of Deutsche Börse and its cooperation partners. In addition, we provide a leading set of analytics and sophisticated metrics for both investment and trading strategies applying modern statistical methods, big data analytics and machine learning. Our clients are the leading financial organizations worldwide, amongst them the leading investment banks, hedge funds and specialist providers of financial information.

 

The Quantitative Analytics team is responsible for Deutsche Börse’s suite of analytics products such as the Eurex & Xetra HHI, Flows, and Open Interest as well as the A7 Analytics Platform. As quantitative analyst/developer (f/m/d) you will create new analytics offerings, improve existing ones, perform custom analyses for internal and external customers, and answer customer inquiries. 

 

Your responsibilities

  • We have all the data, you bring the ideas, skills, and initiative to use it to increase trust in and transparency & efficiency of our markets.
  • You take ownership of alternative datasets over their lifecycle: research, stakeholder approval, specification, prototype, implementation, documentation, deployment, sales support, regulatory approval, client onboarding, customer inquiries, maintenance, and incremental improvements.
  • You will contribute to our internal codebase of database, analysis, and visualization tools.
  • You will spent most of your time in VS Code.
  • You will improve, maintain, debug our customer-facing analytics platform.
  • You will source data, clean data, combine data, build data pipelines & APIs, run analyses for internal and external customers, perform business intelligence analyses.
  • You will collaborate with and support academics in their research.

 

Your profile

  • You have a Ph.D. in a STEM field (completed or in the final stages).
  • You are proficient in a non-empty subset of {C++, python, SQL, Linux, git, GCP}.
  • You have 0-3 years of experience (if != 0: preferably in finance, market microstructure, data science, or software development), more experienced candidates can be considered.
  • You have experience with analyzing & visualizing data, preferably time series/market data.
  • You have experience in developing large complex software systems (back-end and front-end), with possibly real-time, distributed components.
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English.
