D7 is Clearstream's team dedicated to delivering innovative issuance services for financial securities — from shares and warrants to funds. Without these services, there would be nothing to trade on the German financial market. The D7 IT Team develops the next-generation software that enables your business colleagues and customers to boost volume and processing efficiency, i.e. increase revenue and decrease operation costs.
As a D7 IT Solution Design and Technology expert you will become a member of our growing team of IT experts and will contribute to the creation of the issuance platform for electronic securities and its integration into the existing landscape of Clearstream. You will get a chance to use your expertise, to steer, cooperate with and learn from experienced colleagues as well as follow different routes to discover features and possibilities like AI or block-chain.
Your responsibilities:- Communicate with functional and business analysts to understand, shape, and translate requirements into effective IT solution designs
- Align with D7 programme management on strategic priorities and architectural direction
- Cooperate with Clearstream and Deutsche Börse Group architecture teams to ensure cohesive and sustainable system design
- Design efficient IT systems and components that meet business needs while ensuring stability and long-term sustainability
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation covering all aspects of solution design
- Steer implementation decisions, monitor production issues, and incorporate lessons learned into future design iterations
- Continuously evaluate existing solutions and drive improvements in response to evolving requirements and operational needs
- 10+ years of hands-on professional experience in software development using object-oriented languages (Java, C++, or C#)
- Proven track record of leading and steering engineering teams within a software delivery context, with the ability to balance technical excellence, operational stability, and functional priorities
- Demonstrated experience owning and developing innovative, customer-facing applications in the financial sector, including API design and microservices architecture
- Solid understanding of the full software development, delivery, and operations lifecycle within a large, highly regulated organisation
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex options, make well-reasoned decisions, and take clear ownership of outcomes
- Excellent communication skills — capable of explaining technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, and confident in asking questions, voicing concerns, and challenging ideas constructively
- Strong team player with a collaborative spirit, able to work effectively across diverse backgrounds and personalities
- High degree of self-motivation and independence, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in German, French, Luxembourgish, or Czech is a plus
- University degree in IT, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tooling, as well as Docker, OpenShift, or cloud-based high-availability deployments
- Familiarity with distributed ledger technologies (e.g. DAML, R3 Corda, Hyperledger, Kaleido)
- Experience with Kafka and related event-streaming tools
- Hands-on experience maintaining or transforming legacy systems, and working with web frontend technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS)
