Your area of work
The Eurex Strategy & Executive Office team is seeking a Corporate Strategy Expert to help shape and drive the strategic agenda for Eurex’s listed and OTC derivatives and repo business. The team works in close alignment with the Eurex CEO and Management Board on a wide variety of topics ranging from long term strategic planning to targeted competitive analyses and evaluation of key strategic initiatives. In this role, you will act as a trusted sparring partner to senior management and play a central part in defining and executing Eurex’s growth strategy
Your responsibilities
- Lead the analysis and monitoring of macroeconomic, market sector and technology trends to inform Eurex’s strategic positioning in derivatives space
- Own the ongoing review, refinement and coordination of Eurex’s listed derivatives strategy across initiatives, asset classes and services, in close collaboration with product, sales, IT and operations
- Identify, evaluate and prioritize organic and inorganic growth opportunities (e.g. new products, market segments, partnerships, investments or acquisitions) and translate them into actionable, profitable business propositions
- Oversee Eurex’s competitive intelligence framework and develop strategies to further expand, differentiate and defend Eurex’s position in the global derivatives market
- Drive the revenue planning and product/initiative roadmap process, including business case development, financial modelling, budget alignment and prioritization of key strategic projects
- Prepare high-quality presentations, decision papers and strategic updates for the CEO, Management Board and, where relevant, Supervisory Board and external stakeholders
- Act as a strategic partner to business line owners, ensuring alignment between long-term strategic objectives and day-to-day execution across the organization
Your profile
- You have achieved a strong university degree in economics, finance, business, mathematics, engineering or a related field
- You have gained 5+ years of relevant professional experience in strategy, corporate development or a comparable function, ideally within financial markets, exchanges, clearing houses, investment banks or a top tier management or strategy consultancy
- You show a good understanding of derivatives markets trading and clearing; experience with listed derivatives, OTC, Repo market structure and related regulation is highly advantageous
- You provide a proven track record of shaping and executing strategic initiatives in a complex, international environment and of working directly with C-level stakeholders
- You possess strong problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills, including experience in financial modelling, market sizing and scenario analysis
- You master excellent communication and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear recommendations for senior management
- You demonstrate leadership skills and have experience in managing or mentoring team members, as well as leading cross-functional projects
- You bring a very good command of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- You are fluent in written and spoken English; German language skills are beneficial
