Energy IT provides an infrastructure for energy and commodity markets offering four applications called “M7®”: M7 Trading (intraday trading of power, M7 Auction (auction of CO2 emission certificates, loss energy auction), M7 Capacity (intraday cross border capacity management) and XBID. XBID is the European cross-border market solution for intraday power trading and capacity management. This initiative is based on a directive of the European Commission and was implemented by four European Power Exchanges and the Transmission System Operators from 11 countries. Deutsche Börse was selected to develop and operate this platform.
For our M7 Trading service we are looking for a product owner. M7 Trading is a sophisticated trading platform developed by the Deutsche Börse Group for energy markets. It is a core component of Deutsche Börse's 7 MarketTechnology® series, a suite of advanced solutions for trading, clearing, and connectivity. The M7 product family is a leader in European 24/7 intraday power trading solutions. The platform is designed primarily for the continuous power trading market. M7 Trading is a SaaS-based, high-performance trading platform operated on Deutsche Börse’s secure infrastructure in Frankfurt Data Centres. We work in a high collaborative, agile, devops environment. In your new role, you will be responsible for further developing M7Trading with the respective development team and ensure compliance.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Channel product strategy and product features clearly to stakeholders to form consistent understanding of goals and maximize the value of delivery
- Manage the product backlog, making sure that backlogs are always visible, prioritised and clear in structure and content.
- Translate business needs into clear backlog items and prioritize them to maximize product value
- Support and empower the Scrum Team by clarifying goals through clearly defined backlog items and fostering decision-making.
- Ensure product compliance in close collaboration with the Energy Security Office
- Constantly engage, empower and steer decision making in the scrum team to ensure quality end to-end
- Monitor and improve product performances by further developing and analysing KPIs and taking actions to address findings
Your profile:
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience
- Entrepreneurship, high level of energy, curiosity and ability to think strategically
- Identify and translate business opportunities – able to think ‘out of the box’ to identify opportunity and solve challenges
- Solid understanding in trading platforms as well as financial and physical trading and clearing principles, products, market mechanisms and structures
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines and deliver in a fast moving and change oriented environment
- Confident with strong communication, able to engage senior internal & external stakeholders
- Experience with or knowledge of Energy/Commodity markets preferable
- Effective presentation skills essential – creating and delivery
- Very strong proficiency (negotiation level) in written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel depending on product needs
