Field of activity
As a working student (f/m/d) you will support the Target Service Governance Team (TSG) in the Custody and Investor Solutions department. TSG is responsible for interaction with ECB with regards to its TARGET Services (T2S, T2, ECMS). This helps to ensure that Clearstream and the European Central Bank (ECB) fulfill their respective duties under the T2S Framework Agreement. In addition, the team-members represent Clearstream’s interests as the largest CSD in Europe in several ECB working groups. The TSG team is particularly active in EU post-trade harmonization initiatives and migration to a T+1 Settlement Cycle. For the team to be successful a close cooperation with other areas in Clearstream such as Product Management, Relationship Management, Public Affairs, Operations, and IT is required.
Your responsibilities:
- You will gain firsthand insights into the post-trade market infrastructure and the interaction between Clearstream and the Eurosystem on regulatory, policy, and project matters
- You will analyze and interpret complex datasets related to settlement efficiency, market trends, and operational performance using SQL and other analytical tools
- Together with the team you will develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualize key performance indicators and support data-driven decision-making for internal and external stakeholders
- You will support the team by preparing data-centric briefing notes, presentations, and ad-hoc analyses on topics such as the Savings and Investments Union, Digital Currency, T+1 Settlement, and post-trade harmonization
- You support to our Project Managers by managing the project calendar, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and ensuring that all agreed actions, tasks are actively monitored, followed up, and closed within agreed timelines
- In addition, you will be helping to coordinate between different internal teams and preparing status updates for ongoing initiatives
Your profile:
- You are enrolled during the entire period of activity at a state-recognized university as a regular student (pursuing a degree in economics, business studies, law or other relevant fields) and have completed at least 4 semesters or you already hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree that is not older than 6 months
- Ideally, you have already gained first practical experience through internships in other multinational companies
- You have a strong interested in the functioning of financial and capital Markets, the workings of the Eurosystem, EU institutions and post-trade services
- With your strong communication and interpersonal skills you enjoy working in a team and collaborating with colleagues of different backgrounds and skillsets. At the same time, your ability to work independently and very good analytical skills help you to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics
- You are able to prepare impactful presentations and are able to distil large amount of information into concise slides or briefing notes
- You have very good knowledge in the MS Office suite and know how to work with Sharepoint. Ideally you have gained first experience with business intelligence software and automation of tasks
- You are fluent in written and spoken English, additional German language skills will be an advantage
