Your area of work

Deutsche Börse Group is seeking a highly driven Vice President – Strategic Client Development (Buy-Side) to strengthen our coverage of and engagement with the top global buy-side clients. Sitting within the IMS Chief of Staff & Strategy Area, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing buy-side business development. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership and the operational sales teams in Investment Management Solutions and across the Group, to position Deutsche Börse as a strong buy-side partner. Your mission is to deepen client relationships, identify cross business growth opportunities, and ensure that Deutsche Börse’s buy-side value proposition is consistently articulated at the relevant levels of our clients’ organizations.

 

Your respronsibilities

 

  • Strategic client engagements 
    • Lead business development initiatives for Deutsche Börse Group’s top-tier buy side clients, working closely with sales teams in IMS and across all business areas
    • Prepare and coordinate C level sales engagements, including executive briefings, strategic positioning materials, and high-impact client presentations
    • Develop, maintain, and execute client engagement plans to track opportunities, actions, and progress across divisions

 

  • Cross divisional coordination and collaboration
    • Manage the Buy Side Cross Divisional Forum, where opportunities with major buy side clients are discussed with the Executive Board
    • Foster continuous strong alignment between operational buy side sales teams covering the same client across the group, building a community that actively ensures cross-sell
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and approaches for group wide buy side sales (e.g., tech/processes)

 

  • Content development & go to market strategy
    • Own and continuously refine key pitch materials for strategic client segments or thematic areas (e.g., ETF/private markets)
    • Conduct market deep dives on sub regions, client archetypes, and product themes, translating insights into actionable go to market strategies
    • Support IMS strategy team projects with client related analysis/projects

 

  • Relationship building and communication
    • Proactively build and nurture relationships with decision makers across the buy side ecosystem
    • Support external communication of DBG’s buy-side proposition (e.g., preparing input for communications/events)

 

Your profile

  • University degree in business administration and/or comparable education
  • 4+ years of experience in institutional sales, strategic client development, or business development in a client-facing capacity
  • Deep understanding of the global buy side landscape, client needs, market dynamics, and competitive environment
  • Strong track record of working with senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional commercial initiatives
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into commercial actions
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing materials for senior executives
  • Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without authority
