What is the IT Traineeship about?

The IT Trainee Programme offers you insights into different key topics such as Cloud, Software Development, Cyber Security – by joining one of our IT departments. Depending on your interest you can set your focus and actively create your future career path. You will be part of the business from day one and will be given your own projects, responsibility and a lot of creative freedom.

The programme allows you to rotate in three different teams, ensuring that you get insights into the area from various perspectives. You have the option to choose from the following departments:

Chief Technology Office (CTO)
CTO is responsible for ensuring an effective alignment between business and strategy, enabling Deutsche Börse to execute new technology opportunities, e.g. network or cloud infrastructure, automation, robotics and much more.

Corporate IT
Technology is the key foundation – not only for our global business and its markets but also for our employees, who run them. Our goal is to provide a digital, modern and future proof working environment supporting global human collaboration in and outside of our offices beyond Application Management for tools.

Post Trade IT
The area operates and develops the IT infrastructure, systems and applications of our post trading and issuance business. With our different IT product teams, we are the business enabler for Clearstream and essentially for the whole Deutsche Börse Group’s post trading and issuance business.

Group Security
Group Security establishes an intelligence driven security in Deutsche Börse Group which meets regulatory standards and supports a diverse infrastructure providing best practice security capabilities. The strategic positioning of governance, preventive measures and information security and physical security is in focus.

Derivatives & Cash Trading IT
The department designs, builds, tests and technically operates state-of-the-art trading platforms and trading support systems for Deutsche Börse Group’s Eurex and Xetra markets as well as the markets of our partner exchanges. The department is also responsible for the technical operations of the clearing and risk systems for Eurex and Xetra.

Clearing & Risk IT
The department includes Clearing IT, Risk IT and our Data Warehouse StatistiX and delivers a major part of Deutsche Börse Group’s IT change initiatives portfolio by developing the clearing house related IT strategy and monitoring its implementation

IT Governance, Risk and Transformation
The area serves as the center of excellence for IT governance, IT risk and IT transformation. We provide smart and practical guidance and help all IT teams across the group.

What to expect as a Graduate Trainee

Job Rotation

As a Graduate Trainee, you will rotate through various departments, gaining insights into strategic decision-making and business processes. The job rotations will allow you to work with different experts, develop essential skills, and discover your potential in today's dynamic business environment. From the outset, you will have the opportunity to learn through feedback, job shadowing, and challenging projects.

Personal Development

Your personal development is our key focus and will be actively supported. You will have access to a dedicated Graduate Trainee learning journey, along with technical and soft-skill training opportunities. Additionally, you will benefit from onboarding sessions and exclusive knowledge sessions. Throughout your rotations, you will receive continuous feedback and engage in ongoing development discussions with leadership.

Networking

During the programme, you will have the opportunity to build a strong personal network within Deutsche Börse Group. This network can be leveraged to kick-start your career, opening doors to new opportunities, providing valuable career advice, and helping you navigate the professional landscape more effectively.

Mentoring

Throughout the duration of the programme, you will be matched with an experienced colleague acting as your personal mentor and supporting your development. Additionally, you will be paired with a buddy who will support you during the onboarding process and help you become familiar with the organization, ensuring you have the resources needed to start strong.

Internationality

You will interact with our colleagues from all over the world and will gain insights into the work out our different offices. This will help you to develop an extensive network and get to know other locations of Deutsche Börse Group.

Our Application Process

Step 1. Application

Step 2. Virtual Interview

If your documents have sparked our interest, we will invite you to an 30min interview with HR. If we believe you are a good match for us, you will receive an invitation to our virtual Assessment Day.

Step 3. Virtual Assessment

Assessment day date: 17.06.2025 (TBC)

During this day, we will get to know each other better, and you will work with a group of other candidates on a business case study. Once the Assessment Day has been completed, we will provide you feedback shortly afterwards and, if applicable, offer you a position in our IT Graduate Trainee Programme.
