Your area of work:
You are passionate about financial markets and keen on driving the regulatory strategy of one of the globally leading financial market infrastructure providers? Group Regulatory Strategy (GRS) is responsible for monitoring and analyzing political and regulatory initiatives, for positioning Deutsche Börse Group (DBG) towards political and regulatory stakeholders and, importantly, for supporting the business strategy from a regulatory perspective. 
GRS reports to the CEO and cooperates closely with the group’s Corporate Strategy team, the Chief of Staff, and business areas along DBG’s value chain. As such, GRS consults the Executive Board for navigating current political and regulatory developments, for example in the areas of strengthening the attractiveness and competitiveness of EU capital markets, stability and efficiency of financial market infrastructures, the adaptation of new technologies (digitalization) and the transformation to a sustainable economy. GRS consists of a team of experts based in Eschborn (headquarter), Brussels, Berlin and Luxembourg. Within GRS, the section Regulatory Affairs is based in Eschborn and is concerned in particular with expanding regulatory intelligence, assessing the economic and political impact of regulatory initiatives on the company’s business strategy and outlook and for developing and executing DBG’s strategic positioning in key political and regulatory developments in the national, European and global context. The unit Funds & Securities Services focuses on the analysis and positioning on any regulatory activities with impact on DBG’s settlement, custody, collateral management as well as funds business.
  
Your responsibilities:

  • Research, analysis, and assessment of international, European and national political and regulatory initiatives along the value chain of DBG, with a focus on trading and clearing  
  • Coordination of DBG’s strategic positioning on consultations, regulatory dossiers, and political initiatives in alignment with other central functions and affected business units 
  • Participation in and coordination of group-wide regulatory projects of strategic relevance for DBG
  • Preparation of briefing documents, presentations, analytical tools, notes and factsheets for the Executive Board and top management level
  • Representation of DBG’s interests and positioning in industry associations, and support of outreach activities and relationship management towards political and regulatory stakeholders in Germany and Luxembourg

    
Your profile:

  • Completed university studies in economics, political or social sciences, or comparable academic degrees 
  • Professional experience with or knowledge of the value chain of stock exchanges and financial market infrastructures such as central securities depositories, and knowledge of (European) financial market regulation such as CSDR  
  • Knowledge of political institutions and processes at federal and EU level 
  • Very good analytical skills, and confidence in dealing with qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Ability to present complex topics targeted to different audiences and with commitment for high quality for work results
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, motivation to work independently as well as in a team
  • Willingness to familiarise yourself with new topics and take on new tasks
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are welcomed, but not a must
