Do you prosper in a team lead, client-focused role that interacts with B2B business partners as well as internal stakeholders and experts in Clearstream? Are you at your best when liaising with new prospects, transporting the business value proposition, effectively onboard new clients, while articulating an overall commercial strategy? We are currently looking for the Head of Business Development, reporting into the Global Head Sales & Relationship Management, Asset Management.

 

The Asset Management Sales & Relationship Management team within Clearstream Fund Distribution is responsible for the global coverage of the Asset Manager segment, with team members in Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Singapore and Hong Kong. The coverage includes ~450 Asset Managers, ranging from global bulge bracket firms to local champions, across asset classes including alternatives. Within the overall team, the Business Development unit is responsible to maintain an effective sales pipeline and direct contract leads to the key account management team, while facilitating the first phase of contract negotiations. At the same time, we are the gateway to Clearstream’s 4 D’s (Dealing, Distribution, Data, Digital) facilitating holistic introductions for Asset Managers to the full range of Clearstream Fund Services. 

 

Your area of work

  • Business Development: Lead a team of 6 senior business developers based in Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Hong Kong and Singapore
  • P&L and commercial strategy responsibility with mandate to actively shape the sales pipeline, and oversee an effective sales cycle
  • Effective collaboration with the distributor coverage team, in particular to ensure swift onboarding of new distributors, establishing coverage of full fund shelf
  • Driving institutional marketing strategy (supported by the marketing team) ensuring targeted representation at key industry events, organizing own flagship events, social media presence
  • Develop prospect relationships on senior level, establishing and driving strategic dialogue
  • Represent Fund Centre and Clearstream Fund Services 4D offering, including active approach towards expanding relationships, e.g., related to migration to digital solutions
  • Contract negotiations: ensure an effective hand-over of asset manager prospect clients to the client relationship management team, including facilitating the hand over phase
  • Ensure state of the art servicing as first point of contact to navigate the Clearstream Fund Services ecosystem related both to products and operational questions 
  • Ensure targeted connectivity with capability teams, especially in Zurich and Luxembourg

 

Your profile

  • 12+ years of experience servicing B2B business partners, with proven commercial network and expertise in asset management space, ideally in sales role to asset management segment, or comparable institutional sales capacity
  • Proven expertise in commercial sales approach with concrete results, client relationship management, including strong communication skills, on a strategic and senior level
  • Ideally proven track record in leading and coaching senior team members
  • Fluency in German and/or English. Additional language skills of advantage  
  • General knowledge of Asset Management and Fund Platform/Distribution business, and/ or experience on distributor coverage
  • Excellent client and service orientation
  • Result-oriented with problem-solving and analytical skills. Well-organized, accurate, proactive, conscientious, and resilient
  • Good regulatory background of fund and ETF distribution and/or data services is a plus
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, IT or comparable education 
  • Main location London or Zurich
