Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking leader to head our Transformation Design section. This role is critical in shaping the future of our operational capabilities by ensuring Operations is represented from the earliest stages of project design. The Head of Section will act as a key liaison between Operations, IT, and Product, advocating for operational needs and driving alignment across functions.
The role involves close collaboration with the respective Heads of Departments and Head of Sections across operational streams to ensure their needs are understood and integrated into transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building new capabilities within the team, particularly in the area of business functional analysis, to support future-state design and delivery.
The team is spread across three locations (Luxembourg, Frankfurt, and Prague), requiring strong cross-location leadership skills and the ability to foster collaboration across geographies. This is a senior leadership role, guiding a team of 14 professionals through a period of transformation. The Head of Section will play a vital role in supporting the team’s evolution, fostering adaptability, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Representation: Ensure Operations is a key stakeholder from the design phase of projects, influencing decisions and outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, Product, and other business units to co-create solutions that are operationally sound and future-ready.
- Departmental Alignment: Work closely with Heads of Departments and Head of Sections across Operations to capture and integrate their requirements into transformation efforts.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of senior professionals, including project managers, migration managers, and business analysts.
- Capability Building: Develop new competencies within the team, with a focus on business functional analysis to support transformation design.
- Change Leadership: Guide the section through organizational change, helping team members adapt to new roles and responsibilities.
- Process Design & Optimization: Drive the design of future-state operational processes that support strategic goals and improve efficiency.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head of Operations Transformation, ensuring transparency and alignment with broader transformation objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in leading transformation initiatives within Operations or related functions.
- Strong background in project and change management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop senior teams through change, including across multiple locations.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments, ideally within financial services or a similarly complex industry.
