At Deutsche Börse AG, Group Compliance serves as both the Compliance function of Deutsche Börse AG and the umbrella organization for the Compliance division of Deutsche Börse Group. You will work closely with various business units and group control functions to ensure adherence to national and international laws and regulations applicable to different entities of Deutsche Börse Group (GDB) and their business activities.

 

Group Compliance proactively identifies potential compliance or reputational risks, including those related to new business activities and products. Group Compliance define group-wide policies, support their consistent application within group companies, and provide central services/processes to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and other criminal offences, international financial sanctions, market abuse, and corruption. We also focus on data protection, conflict of interest management, and other legal requirements. Our Compliance Officers gain diverse insights into global financial activities through various compliance tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor legal and regulatory obligations, official requirements, and market practices, particularly regarding MiFID/MiFIR, MAD/MAR, and related delegated regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee company-relevant compliance policies.
  • Advise Deutsche Börse Group’s business units on compliance-related issues and the implementation of compliance requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring group companies for potential Compliance risks and control activities, especially within the Securities Compliance function ("2nd line of defense").
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.
  • Prepare reports for management and other relevant committees and correspond with regulators.
  • Support regular and ad-hoc risk analyses and training of employees on compliance topics and relevant IT systems.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Successfully completed studies in law or economics, or equivalent professional training/experience with specific training in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational talent.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and comprehensively.
  • High degree of initiative, motivation, and flexibility, as well as teamwork, communication, and integrity.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, and proficient in MS Office.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in securities compliance and/or capital market compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, particularly in banking and capital markets law (MiFID/MiFIR, MAD/MAR, CSDR, EMIR, Benchmark Regulation, KWG, WpIG, WpHG, MaComp, MaRisk, etc.).
