Your career at Deutsche Börse Group

Your Area of Work

As a Strategy & Transformation expert you will partner closely with senior management to shape and execute strategic priorities across Deutsche Börse's Post Trading business. You will support the design and implementation of operating model enhancements, transformation initiatives, performance improvement programs, and operational excellence initiatives, helping ensure sustainable growth and efficient delivery.

Based in Cork, you will act as a trusted advisor to Operations leadership and work closely with Technology, Finance, Risk & Compliance, and business stakeholders. You will help translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, establish effective governance structures, and drive disciplined execution of key initiatives across the organization.

In addition, you may contribute to large-scale transformation and transaction-related initiatives as required, supporting analysis, planning, and execution management across complex cross-functional programs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operational Strategy & Transformation: Support the definition and execution of strategic priorities across Operations, translating long-term objectives into actionable initiatives and implementation roadmaps.
  • Programme & Initiative Delivery: Establish and lead structured delivery frameworks for high-priority operational and transformation initiatives, including governance setup, planning, dependency management, milestone tracking, and risk management.
  • Operating Model Development: Contribute to the development and evolution of target operating models (TOM), organisational structures, and business processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and service quality across Operations.
  • Performance & Value Steering: Develop transparent performance tracking and value measurement approaches, including KPI frameworks, benefits tracking, cost optimisation initiatives, and executive reporting.
  • Stakeholder Management & Governance: Build strong relationships across Operations, Technology, Finance, Risk & Compliance, and business leadership. Facilitate decision-making processes and provide concise updates to senior management and governance forums.
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance controls, increase automation, and improve operational effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Strategic Analysis & Decision Support: Conduct analyses on market developments, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities, translating findings into recommendations for senior management.
  • Transformation Support: Contribute to large-scale transformation and strategic initiatives, including transaction-related projects where required, supporting planning, execution, and value realization activities.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree (or PhD) from a top-tier university in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a quantitative field; outstanding academic track record.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally combining top-tier strategy consulting or Big 4 advisory experience with a corporate role leading complex transformation, strategic change, operational improvement, or large-scale programme delivery in financial services.
  • Deep operational understanding: proven hands-on experience working with or within Operations and/or IT functions in a capital markets, asset servicing, or fund services environment. Familiarity with post-trade processes (order routing, settlement, reconciliation, custody, corporate actions) is a strong plus.
  • Proven track record running multi-workstream execution/governance (PMO/Transformation Office style), including planning, dependency management, RAID, executive reporting, and decision facilitation.
  • Strong strategic and financial analytics: business cases, value/benefits tracking, prioritization, and performance steering; excellent PowerPoint/Excel skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills across seniority levels; ability to operate under pressure with high autonomy and sound judgment.
  • High discretion and integrity when handling sensitive strategic and business-critical topics
  • Fluent English required, German and/or French and/or Spanish is a strong plus.
