Your career at Deutsche Börse Group
As Business Resilience Officer, you will be part of the Clearstream Securities Services (CSS) Business Resilience function within the Independent Business Risk and Control (IBRC) area, supporting the governance of first line of defence (1LoD) risk and control practices, with a focus on strengthening the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the internal control environment.
In this role, you will support the team in connecting processes, risks, controls, findings, incidents, claims and remediation activities into a single risk-resilience cycle. You will contribute to a robust, proportionate and fit-for-purpose Internal Control System (ICS), while building your analytical skills and progressively adopting data, automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities under the guidance of more experienced colleagues.
Your responsibilities:- Support ICS quality and efficiency: Perform analysis on the quality, adequacy, completeness and consistency of CSS processes, risks and controls, and support continuous improvements towards proportionate, balanced and efficient ICS key controls.
- Support audit and supervisory remediation: Assist in the coordination of regulatory onsite inspections and in the tracking of significant internal, statutory and regulatory findings, including support to evidence collection, Corrective Action Plan (CAP) documentation and remediation progress monitoring.
- Assist external assurance coordination: Support ISAE 3402 and SOC 2 audit work, including preparation of documentation, drafting of observations, follow-up on improvement measures and liaison with the external auditor under the supervision of more senior team members.
- Contribute to integrated control reporting: Support connecting-the-dots analysis and reporting across internal and external findings, Self-Identified Issues (SII), claims and goodwill, and incidents, helping to provide a comprehensive view of control maturity, failure events and actionable remediation; contribute to the Annual Management Report on Internal Controls.
- Support SII and CAP lifecycle management: Assist in the identification of SIIs and associated CAPs, help maintain the inventory, monitor remediation progress and support transparent reporting.
- Contribute to the risk-resilience cycle: Support the integration, rationalisation and elevation of the risk-resilience cycle by helping to challenge business practices and supporting the simplification and automation of processes, including the adoption of AI tools and techniques.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Banking, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in the financial services industry is preferred, ideally within banks, financial market infrastructures, regulatory bodies or supervisory authorities. A basic understanding of the Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model and first line of defense (1LoD) risk and control responsibilities is expected.
- Initial exposure to or keen interest in at least one of the activities listed under your responsibilities, such as ICS quality, operational risk and controls, audit or supervisory remediation, external assurance, SII and CAP management, integrated control reporting, incidents, claims or resilience-related governance. Prior internship or traineeship experience in a related area is a plus.
- Ability to perform structured analysis, produce clear and accurate deliverables, follow up on tasks reliably and seek guidance proactively. Willingness to learn, ask questions and accept constructive feedback.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise information clearly and contribute to the preparation of materials for management review.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail, curiosity, pragmatism and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift. A structured approach to problem-solving is valued.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel, familiarity with SharePoint and collaborative document management, ability to prepare clear presentations, and openness to learning and using AI-based tools and automation in daily work.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required; German and French are an advantage.
